Remember, try and stop

Aquí os dejo un vídeo donde podéis ver un poco las diferencias entre el uso de: 

Stop + infinitive with to and  stop + verb+ -ing.

Remember + infinitive with to and remember + verb+ -ing.

Try + infinitive with to and try + verb + -ing.

Verbs with differents meanings

Remember + verb + -ing: para recordar algo que hicimos en el pasado. I remember staying up all night before my English exam.I remember sending an e-mail to Luis.( Recuerdo haber enviando un e-mail a Luis)

Remember + infinitive with to: recordar mentalmente algo que tenemos que hacer en el futuro. I always remember to wish my daughters luck  before their exams.I  always remember to turn off the tv every night.( yo siempre me acuerdo de apagar la televisión todas las noches).

Stop + verb + ing: Lo usamos para decir que hemos parado de hacer algo que estábamos haciendo. It's time to stop eating sweets and brush your teeth. (Es hora de dejar de comer dulces y cepillarse los dientes)

Stop + infinitive with to: Parar de hacer una cosa para hacer otra. I was having a shower but it was late so I stopped to go to the party. (Estaba tomando una ducha, pero era tarde así que paré para ir a la fiesta).

En este caso (TO) significa (para).

Try + verb+ ing: En español sería PROBAR, hacer algo para resolver un problema. If you don't know the meaning of this word, why don't you try looking up it in a dictionary?

Try + infinitive with to: En español sería Intentar. Hacer un esfuerzo para hacer algo difícil. I was trying to learn dozens of equations by heart.( Estaba intentando aprender docenas de ecuaciones de memoria).
